Swim with clarity from sunrise to sunset with Zoggs Advanced Lens technology

For more than three decades, Zoggs has been refining and redefining arguably the most important bit of swim kit you’ll ever buy – the swim goggle. While fit and comfort remain essential, lens technology has become increasingly important for swimmers and triathletes moving between indoor pools, open water, and through ever-changing light conditions.

Sponsored: After decades of development, the brand has introduced a range of specialist lens technologies designed to respond to different light environments and levels of visibility. From polarized lenses, made to help reduce glare and surface reflection in bright conditions, to photochromic designs that adjust to changing light throughout a swim session. Other lenses are built to enhance contrast, improve clarity, and reduce visual fatigue. They’re subtle differences that can have a noticeable impact in the water, particularly over longer sessions or in challenging conditions.

As one of the first swim brands to establish itself in the indoor and outdoor sphere, it’s no accident that Zoggs has featured consistently here at 220Triathlon since its inception. A brand that has become synonymous with quality and reliable swim gear, we were curious to find out more about the tech used in their goggles.

Every bit of gear is optimised to the max in today’s training and racing, and we’ve seen swim lenses take a similar trajectory to become high-performance tools in their own right. At the end of the day, the swim goggles that you’ll be reaching for time and time again will be those that are tailored to help you excel, no matter your swim environment.

Master the light with Zoggs performance lenses

Early morning training, low-lit indoor pools, bright open water, and variable weather each place different demands on visibility, depth perception, and eye comfort. Don’t let the weather get in the way of your swim – being able to see clearly in the water is not only key for admiring the view during an open water dip, it’s also essential for swim safety and comfort. With the right equipment, your swim could become the highlight of your day, which is why Zoggs has developed eight different lens technologies to cover all light conditions. To find the right lens for you, it’s worth checking out Zoggs’ lens finder.  Otherwise, read on to find out more…

Titanium Reactor lens

For: Changeable and extreme light swims

Similar to the Reactor lens below, this titanium version changes its tint in response to variations in light – transforming from a pale grey to a mirror green tint. As light conditions get brighter, the lens gradually transforms into titanium, and the light allowed through passes from 90% to 10% in order to shade the eyes. The mirror aspect is designed to further protect the eyes from glare in particularly bright conditions.

Reactor lens

For: Changeable light swims

If you tend to reach for either a clear or smoke lens during your swims, the Reactor lens covers all bases, without the need to switch out your goggles when the light changes. This pale grey (almost transparent) lens transforms its tint from clear to smoke in response to changing light levels.  As more and more light passes through, the brightness becomes increasingly dimmed in respon…
